| Construction
starts on state's largest
biodiesel fuel plant
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
De Forest, Wisconsin,
December 2, 2005
“Another step which
will encourage the use
of alternative fuel sources”
Permits were approved
last week for what will
be the state’s largest,
multi-feed, biodiesel
fuel plant. The 15,000
square foot facility,
located in the De Forest,
Wisconsin industrial park,
will employ up to 15 people
and produce 20 million
gallons of biodiesel fuel
annually. It will be owned
and operated by Anamax
Energy Services, Inc.,
a member of the Anamax
group of companies, Green
Bay, Wisconsin. Anamax
is part of Sanimax Inc.,
which is headquartered
in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
The new facility will
be located adjacent to
an existing Anamax facility
which collects and recycles
restaurant, industrial
and trap greases, which
can be used as raw materials
in the biodiesel process.
In addition to biodiesel,
which is used as an interchangeable
replacement for diesel
fuel in vehicles, the
new plant will also produce
glycerin as a by-product,
which is primarily used
in the feed industry.
In recent years, there
has been a renewed interest
in biodiesel, a cleaner
burning, non-toxic and
biodegradable fuel. When
burned, it produces lower
emissions than traditional
diesel, which is better
for the environment and
human health. “The
benefits are enormous,
said Mike Langenhorst,
President and Chief Executive
Officer of Sanimax, and
a member of the National
Biodiesel Board.
One of the unique features
of the plant is that it
will utilize multiple
feed sources. “Most
biodiesel plants are very
feedstock sensitive,”
explained Langenhorst.
“By being able to
utilize multiple feed
stocks, the raw material
availability is significant.
We will be able to utilize
products produced by our
Company as well as vegetable
oils.
